Williamson County Association of Realtors® Announces May 2007 Home Sales

June 8, 2007 (Franklin, TN)-The Williamson County Association of REALTORS® today announces the sale of homes statistics for Williamson County, Tn. for the month of May. There were 494 residential and condominium closings reported for the month, according to figures provided by RealTracs Solutions, the multiple listing service used by REALTORS® in the Middle-Tennessee area.

Compared to May of 2006, the residential home closings decreased 6 percent. While the median prices for residential homes increased by 10 percent. Days on the market (DOM) for residential homes increased by 12 days or 20 percent as compared to April 2006. Condominium closings decreased by 13 percent. The median prices for condominiums increased by 40 percent and days on the market also increased by 53 percent (24 days) compared to April 2006.

The amount of closings is the highest for 2007 to date, which is typical for the beginning of the summer season. The median prices are still increasing in our local area which is in contrast to the majority of markets in other areas of United States. Real estate markets are local in nature; buyers and sellers are cautioned to look at the local statistics and not rely on National reporting, which is not representative of our sought-after Williamson County properties." said Susan McKinney, 2007 President of the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®.
